Trinity Pride

“As early as 1992 the Session adopted a statement from a Sunday school class studying the book of Jeremiah on establishing a policy of inclusivity for our church. This included not only the use of inclusive language in worship, but inclusivity for all persons in our midst and membership. Each new member class was given the statement, and it became a part of the culture of the church. As the national culture and denomination struggled with the issues surrounding homosexuality, it seemed that Trinity had already made its case.” Kent Miller, in Celebrating Our Story, 2010

Trinity Yarn Bombing Project for Pride Month 2026

Calling all knitters, crocheters and textile artists.

We want to yarn bomb the two large oak trees in front of the church plus some of the smaller trees along the Bell Avenue in honor of Pride Month.  Our street art installation will remain up for the months of May & June 2026.

No real skill needed.  Everyone can contribute.  If you can’t knit or crochet, you can donate bits of yarn or funds to help purchase unfinished items from Thistle Creative Reuse. Sections of textiles will be lashed together to create larger pieces that can be wrapped and lashed around the trees.  The yarn doesn’t damage the trees and will only be up for a couple months.

Contact Sher with questions or material donations.

Google Yarn Bombing to see some amazing installations around the world.
