Mission

Trinity’s Mission arises in part from the conviction that when we feed the hungry, give something to drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, and more, we do so to Christ (see Matthew 25:31-46).  Traditionally we have largely done this by supporting organizations in our community that engage in these ministries.  This support takes the form of both volunteering and financial support.  Indeed, approximately 17 percent of our budget goes to supporting local, national, and international ministries, a percentage that is unusually rare among churches of any size, especially a church of our size.

Our mission is also reflected in the ways that we make our building available for free or for a reduced rate to local nonprofit groups.  We have hosted Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and Hope and Recovery Sex Addicts Anonymous groups for many years or even decades.   We likewise host Stepping Stones, an organization that provides respite care for those struggling with dementia and for their caregivers.

We are a Matthew 25 congregation, which means that we identify with a larger Presbyterian denominational focus on building congregational vitality, dismantling systematic racism, and eradicating poverty (to learn more, see https://www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/matthew-25/.  We are also an Earth Care congregation, which reflects our congregational commitment to caring for creation as part of our mission.   We are a Peacemaking congregation that opposes weapons on our premises.
