Music Staff
Trinity is blessed with a talented music staff. The people and positions are:

Lenora McCroskey, Director of Music
Lenora McCroskey, Director of Music, joined the staff at Trinity Presbyterian in July of this year.
She is Professor Emeritus at the College of Music at UNT, having retired in August of 2009.
As the Assistant Director of Early Music Studies there, she taught organ, harpsichord,
Baroque performance practice and coached chamber ensembles. She was responsible in 2001 for
instigating the on-going Handel project at UNT with Graeme Jenkins of the Dallas Opera conducting
professionals and pre-professionals in performances of Handel oratorios. Her keyboard students
have consistently won prizes in regional, national, and international competitions,
including the first Dallas International Organ Competition in 1997.
Her church and choral experience includes director of music at First Christian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Denton, St. Anne Episcopal Church in Azle, Christ Church Episcopal, Rochester, NY, and the Assistant Organist/Choirmaster in the Memorial Church, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. She also was director of Musica Sacra, a semi-professional vocal group, while living in Cambridge. She has attended several choral workshops, including the Presbyterian Association of Musicians summer workshops in Montreat, NC, and Albuquerque, NM and studied choral conducting with John Ferris at Harvard and Henry Gibbons at UNT.
Her professional life currently includes performing regularly with instrumental ensembles in the DFW area, including the Dallas Bach Society, the Orchestra of New Spain, the Denton Bach Society and she is a member of the newly formed ensemble, the Denton Bach Players.
She is a member of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians and is active in the Dallas Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, where she has served as Dean, director of various committees, and as district convener for North Texas. She is a member of the Society of Fellows of the Mary Ingraham Bunting Institute of Radcliffe College.
Prior to her appointment at UNT, McCroskey was on the faculties of Stetson University, the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, and the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester. She holds the BA and BM degrees from Stetson, where her organ study was with Paul Jenkins; a masters degree from Harvard in musicology; and the DMA from the Eastman School of Music, where her organ study was with Russell Saunders.
Ann Barnett, Organist
Ann Barnett, organist, is a graduate of the University of North Texas with both bachelors and masters degrees. She has served as organist (and sometimes organist/director) at Trinity Presbyterian Church since 1960, when the church was organized. Previous positions were as organist of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Denton, Christ Episcopal Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church, both in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Ann is the wife of retired Presbyterian minister, Prentice Barnett, and the mother of five children, and grandmother of ten. Her entire life has been centered around music and the church.
Stephanie Hicks, Director of Children and Youth Choir
Stephanie started in 2009 as Director of Children and Youth Choir.
