Music and the Arts at Trinity

Next to theology, I give a place to music: for thereby all anger is forgotten, the devil is driven away, and melancholy, and many tribulations, and evil thoughts are expelled. It is the best solace for a desponding mind. ~Martin Luther

Sanctuary Choir

The sanctuary choir is at the heart of music and worship at Trinity Presbyterian. The choir sings each week for Sunday worship as well as for other special concert offerings throughout the year.

While a traditional approach to worship is utilized most often, the choir sings a variety of repertoire including spirituals, upbeat selections of recently composed music and traditional church standards. The choir is also committed to the use of inclusive language in all of their musical offerings.

The choir is joined by students from the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University each year on choir scholarship from the church as well as instrumentalists from the Denton area.

The group presents one major work each year along with a special cantata/Lessions & Carols service for Christmas.

A background in music is NOT a requirement to become a member of the sanctuary choir. Individuals with a desire to serve the Lord and who are willing to make a commitment to the success of the group are welcome and encouraged to visit a choir rehearsal.

The Sanctuary Choir meets Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Contact Lenora McCroskey, Director of Music for more information at 'lenora430@gmail.com' or by calling the church office.
